Tomas Siroky – Musician / Bass Player
Tomas Široký is a dynamic and adaptable musician whose journey spans genres, continents, and roles. Originally from the Czech Republic, Tomas trained at the Conservatoire in České Budějovice before launching a multi-faceted career as a double bassist and electric bassist.
In the early stages of his career, he performed with South Bohemian Theatre and various ensembles across the Czech Republic, Europe, and Asia, including Bonsai č.3, a Czech folk project blending classical, traditional, and modern elements. He also taught music at schools in Třeboň, Trhové Sviny, and Hluboká nad Vltavou, helping shape the next generation of players.
His performing career expanded internationally with tours across Europe alongside iconic artists as part of the Rock Meets Classic project, where he shared the stage with legends like Bonnie Tyler, Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Lou Gramm (Foreigner), Dan McCafferty (Nazareth), Les Holroyd, Marc Storace (Krokus), Paul Rodgers (Free), Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann’s Earth Band), Eric Bazilian (The Hooters), and Steve Augeri (Journey).
Tomas has since become known for his versatility across genres. He performs with rhythm & blues Sister Suzie and with Savannah Gardner, bringing upright bass to her soulful, Americana-infused sound. He has been a member of the blues-rock powerhouse band Grace and Danger, as well as The Southern Blues Kings — a Chicago and West Coast-style jump blues and swing band.
His jazz work includes ToonTones Jazz Quartet, a collaboration with guitarist Bruce Knapp and drummer/producer James Asher, featuring the vocals of Ziza Stupková. He also co-founded The Moonbeans, an acoustic-folk project with Czech singers Ziza and Tereza Stupková, blending rich vocal harmonies with global influences.
He was also the founder and member of the multi-genre double bass quartet Quo Vadis Bass, for which he wrote original arrangements for the group’s repertoire.
Now based in the UK, Tomas is also the UK Manager and Executive Producer for the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague, and co-director at BMA Production Ltd. His musical footprint includes both front-line stage work and behind-the-scenes tour production.
His passion for music also extends to the technical side — he is an experienced piano tuner and technician, and a former web developer and co-founder of the music platform Muzikantiakapely.cz.
